Welcome to Down the Stretch Photos. I have been a horse racing fan all of my life . I remember watching Secretariat and Ruffian, two horses that captured everyones hearts giving all they had to be first at the wire. My all-time favorite had to be Affirmed he had so much heart and drive to keep going in that amazing Belmont Stakes. Hard to believe that he was the last to win the elusive Triple Crown. I have turned my passion for horses and horse racing into a part time career and have had the pleasure to work for Thoroughbred Times, The Daily Racing Form, The Voice Tribune, The Gwinnett Daily Post, The Steeplechase Times, Southeast Equine Monthly and The Backstretch Magazine. My work has also been featured in Gary Steven's book "A Perfect Ride".
I feel priviledged to have been able to see some of the great ones (Affirmed, Forego, John Henry, Silver Charm, Skip Away plus many more) in retirement and on the track. Most of all I treasure the ability to be able to witness the great moments on the track. The wild rides of Charismatic, Silver Charm, Real Quiet, Funny Cide, Smarty Jones and Big Brown trying to capture the elusive Crown, Barbaro's amazing Derby win, Rachel Alexandra's spectacular year in 2009, and of course the wildly exciting , PERFECT Zenyatta and many more that have yet to hit the track. I have also been blessed to have traveled to see the Irish Derby twice and in 2011 was able to go to Australia and meet BLACK CAVIAR - their Zenyatta It was very special and will always be the highlight of my trip .
